The Henry Ford Museum commissioned Academy Studios to create "Heros of The Sky: A Centennial of FLight" - a striking first impression and an all-new look for the Museum's 40,000 sq. ft. renovation. These exhibits commemorate the centennial of flight in 2003. Rather than present the history of flight from a linear perspective, Academy's designers chose to utilize the unique and adventurous tales of the people who made the emergence of flight possible. Fifteen actual and replicated planes are included in this exciting exhibit, with a replica of the Wright Flyer as the "Touchstone," or centerpiece. Each plane is placed in an elaborate object theater, containing audio -visual components and interactive activities, allowing the visitor to engage in a completely immersive experience.
