In June, 2010 Newport Harbor Nautical Museum opened their new exhibit entitled Adventure of the Sea. Designed and fabricated by Academy Studios, this 2,800 square foot exhibit explores the rich nautical history of Newport Harbor, Southern California and the Pacific. Divided into three galleries featured items include: an actual sailboat used in telling the story of the Transpac race from Point Fermin to Hawaii and Tahiti; a scaled deep sea submersible Alvin interactive; models and murals showing the abundance of life in the sea; and a visitor challenge interactive to "Go Out and Explore" guide to local water sports. Nautical buffs and the general public should surely plan a stop here.
