Liverpool, England has a new museum all about bugs. 10,000 square feet of exhibit space dedicated to the creepy crawlers of the world. MASi (a partnership between Academy Studios and Met Studios of London) designed and fabricated BugWorld, an innovative exhibit experience that opened its doors in July 2009. A blend of modern technology-based design, live insects, immersive experiences and computer interactives including games brings the subject to life. The visitor takes a journey through distinct habitats, water including the one it shares with humans in homes and gardens. One comes away with an appreciation for not only the vastness of the roles these creatures play on the planet and our dependence on insects in our lives, but also the shear beauty of them upon close inspection.
