Thousands of visitors come to Ano Nuevo each year to see the elephant seals mate and breed on the beach, but the Park Service had not updated the exhibits in some time. Academy Studios' design conveys a story of the present day scientists knowledge and study of the deep sea lives of elephant seals; visitors get a glimpse into the world that can't be seen on the beach or on a tour. The design uses the low ceilings and moody dark interior of the historic barn building to create a feeling of diving deep beneath the sea.
